Floorplan is an immersive group exhibition at Unit 2 Art Gallery, St Leonards, exploring domestic space as a lived and negotiated system.

Floorplan is an open call for artists whose work engages with domestic space and the structures of house and home. Floorplan invites artists to think about how domestic dwellings are not just structures, but lived containers.

The exhibition takes the floorplan as both a practical blueprint and a conceptual framework: a system that determines how we move through space, how we use it, and what kinds of lives are possible within it. What happens when these spaces that shape us are disrupted, disjointed shared, or reimagined?

Floorplan is interested in spaces that are lived in, imagined, remembered, temporary, unstable, or aspirational. Kitchens, bedrooms, hallways, and shared spaces become charged sites where intimacy and conflict, security and vulnerability, coexist.

Floorplan will transform the gallery into a walk through domestic environment of interconnected rooms to invite reflection on the social, emotional, and political dimensions of domestic dwellings and how we experience our lived environments.

Submissions are welcome across all mediums, wall-based, installation, sculpture, sound, moving image, performance, interactive work, text-based or archival practices.

Works may be subtle or immersive, playful or critical, and should consider how they might inhabit, interrupt, or redefine a room within the gallery.
