Unit 2 was a year-long dynamic gallery and project space dedicated to contemporary fine art, based in the heart of St Leonards. 

The Idea was to provide opportunities for artists and curators at every stage of their career; a fresh alternative to the usual commercial or institutional gallery models. 

At Unit 2 we invited people to:

• Submit a proposal to the gallery to produce a group or solo show.

• Enjoy a free weekly programme of art shows.

• Participate in our regular open calls.

• Meet other like minded people, share ideas and grow your network. 

We set up Hole Projects CIC, an artist led organisation dedicated to creating DIY spaces for artists to grow and thrive.

Our focus is platforming engaging fine art from a wide variety of artistic contexts. From the soft and small to the all consuming, the high concept and the beautiful, the challenging and the comforting, we’re here for it all. Unit 2 was our first venture – it’s come to the end of its year-long tenancy now – so watch this space for future plans!
