After a glorious 12 months on London Road, we are coming together for the final time with a diverse and exciting selection of work. This exhibition features over 60 artists and celebrates art-making as a strange, beautiful, shared human experience.

It’s where everything we did, happened. Captured in stories, photographs, souvenirs, and journals. Held hostage in museums. Squirrelled in someone’s attic. Felt in your body. 

The receipts of our actions. The reminders. 

It’s the site of our entire emotional experience. Where we squeeze each other tightly. Where we do whatever is possible to soothe our boredom. Every side eye, eye roll, and glimpse takes place here. Everything that comforts, excites, and confuses. Everything that we noticed. 

Where we take root and up root. Where spaces, walls, and lines are made. 

Invitations are extended. Powers are given, upheld, challenged, and resisted. 

We nurse our wounds. We grow. We break through. 

Learning and unlearning, making and unmaking, ripping it all up and starting again.

A word from Bee:

Epigeal marks the close of our one year tenure on London Road. 

Over 500 artists have exhibited their work in this space. Your energy and ideas have surpassed every expectation I had of what this project might have been. Thank you for making it so special. I could not be more proud of the shows you have made here. 

And Unit 2 would still be a daydream without the support (and hard graft!) of my dear friends and family. A special mention goes to Mully for all the time, love, patience, and encouragement he has given to this. You are always ready to jump in with both feet and get stuck in. 

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 

This weekend we celebrate what we have all done together.
