Featuring a stellar cohort of local, national and international artists, BATTLEAXE comes to Unit 2 this month for two weekends.
PV Friday 10 October, 6.30pm-9.30pm
Open 11, 12, 18, 19 October, 11.00am-5.00pm
Join us to explore life in patriarchal exile, to revel in the energy of the ungovernable older woman, and to play in the wild space beyond the typical gender binary.
Expect intervention, 2D/3D works, film, and performance.
Curated by Bee Nicholls, Unit 2 founder and intersectional feminist activist (Free the Nipple, Brighton Women’s Centre).
C U Next Tuesday collective will be delivering a free quilting workshop (times below). Join them to engage in the rich history of quilting, contributing to an evolving collaborative artwork.
Kit Marshall and Tilliana Greenwood will be performing their work Practice Lies in the Nipple (times below). Warning: contains what we have been conditioned to think of as nudity.
Redeeming Features will be performing his poem Skrunt (times below).
Proceeds from the bar will be donated to inclusive women’s charity Women’s Voice.
See you there!
